Ett stilla regn faller på Stockholms gator (som klyschan säger) när jag förväntansfullt traskar mot Pub Anchor. Vietcong Pornsürfers har släppt, enligt mig, årets hittills bästa platta och ikväll ska jag äntligen få se detta live. Club Asylum brukar alltid vara grymt och nu när Vietcong Pornsürfers ska förgylla kvällen med en liveakt kan det ju nästan inte bli bättre. Jag har förberett mig mentalt på att få trängas en del ikväll. (Förra gången de spelade på Pub Anchor var det så fullt med folk att man knappt orkade vara där på grund av andnöd och klaustrofobi men att man ändå var kvar för att det var så vansinnigt bra).
Jag blir (positivt) överraskad när jag kommer fram och upptäcker att det inte är riktigt lika mycket folk på plats som sist. En mycket trevlig stämning har spridit sig i lokalen och som vanligt står Asylums eminenta dj:s Danne Hell, Dave Messiah, Hardcore Linus och Fizzy Strike i båset och förser oss med grym musik.
Strax efter klockan 23 kliver grabbarna i VCPS äntligen ut på scenen och drar igång med första spåret på nya plattan, Marcel. Folk strömmar mot scenen och jag noterar en och annan VCPS-tröja bland åskådarna. Folk vet att det här är en kväll man inte vill missa. Bandmedlemmarna röjer ordentligt på scenen och får publiken att hoppa, dansa och sjunga med i låtarna direkt från start. Sångaren Tom K hoppar runt, klättrar ut och ställer sig på ett bord, lutar sig ut över publiken och lyckas ändå göra en galet bra sånginsats. Både Tom K och gitarristen Teddy ligger på golvet och sjunger/spelar någon gång under spelningen och även basisten W. Affe röjer runt på hela scenen och sprider energi. Rackarn öser på bakom trumsetet och det är helt omöjligt att stå still och inte skrika med i låtarna.
Kvällens setlist är perfekt och jag känner inte att jag saknar någon låt. Till favoriterna denna afton hör Dead Track, Diseases, The Best Song, I Hate Your Band och avslutningslåten Self Destructive.
Det är galet ös på scenen genom hela spelningen och det är trångt och svettigt i publiken. Det är så grymt att man aldrig vill att det ska ta slut. Tyvärr gör det ändå det och inget extranummer får vi heller, men lika glada är vi för det eftersom vi just fått uppleva tolv ösiga låtar framförda på bästa tänkbara sätt av vad som förmodligen kan räknas som ett av de bästa livebanden Sverige har att erbjuda för tillfället. Ni som inte var där, ni gick miste om en vansinnigt bra kväll!
Bäst: Att de är så jävla bra.
Sämst: Att det tog slut.

LIVE: Vietcong Pornsürfers at Club Asylum, Pub Anchor – Stockholm

A gentle rain is falling on the streets of Stockholm when I anticipately head towards Pub Anchor. Vietcong Pornsürfers have released, according to me released this years best album so far and tonight I finally get the chance to see it performed live. Club Asylum is always awesome and now that Vietcong Pornsürfers will brighten up the evening with their live act it almost can’t get any better. I have prepared myself mentally for how crowded it’s going to be tonight. (The last time they played at Pub Anchor it was so crowded that you could hardly bear to be there because of shortness of breath and claustrophobia but I didn’t leave because it was so insanely good).
I get pleasantly surprised when I arrive and find that it’s not quite as many people here as last time. A nice atmosphere has spread over the room and as usual Asylums eminent DJ’s Daniel Hell, Dave Messiah, Hardcore Linus and Fizzy Strike are in the booth providing us with great music. 
Shortly after 11 pm the guys in VCPS finally gets out on stage and kicks off with the first track from their new album Marcel. People gather in front of the stage and I notice several VCPS t-shirts among the spectators. People know that this is something you don’t want to miss. The band members gives us their all on the stage and the audience starts to jump, dance and sing along to all the songs from the start. The singer Tom K jumps around, climbs out and stands on a table, leans out over the audience and still manages to give us an outstanding vocal performance. Both Tom K and guitarist Teddy are lying on the floor and singing/playing at some point during the show and also bassist W. Affe is all over the entire stage and spreads his energy. Rackarn goes Cookie Monster behind the drums and it is quite impossible to stand still and not scream with them to the songs.
Tonight’s setlist is perfect and I do not feel cheated of any songs. My favourites this evening however are: Dead Track, Diseases, The Best Song, I Hate Your Band and the closing song Self Destructive.
The band is rocking on stage throughout the show and it’s crowded and sweaty in the audience. It’s so intense that you never want it to end. Unfortunately, the end still comes and we did not get any encore either but we’re still happy because we have just experienced twelve great songs performed in the best way possible of what probably can be counted as one of the best live bands that Sweden has to offer at the moment. Those of you who were not there, you missed out on an insanely great evening!
Best: That they are so damn good.
Worst: That it ended.
